MILLWALL boss Neil Harris believes new signing Christian Mbulu has big potential after handing the defender his first ever professional contract.
Mbulu signed a one-year deal with the Lions yesterday on his 19th birthday.
The 6ft 4in centre-back impressed the watching Harris, Dave Livermore and Scott Fitzgerald when he came on as a second-half substitute for a Millwall XI side against Braintree last month and stood out again at Kingstonians a week later.
He played with Brentwood Town last season, helping them win promotion to the Ryman League Premier Division.
Mbulu will initially join the elite development squad.
“He’s a real off-the-cuff one,” Harris said at a Millwall fans forum at The Den last night. “He’s extremely raw and has signed his first professional contract with us. He’s going to need to adapt to training every day but he’s impressed everyone on the management team.”
