GARY Rowett said he did not want to pinpoint individual players for blame after being quizzed on Bartosz Bialkowski in the Reading defeat.
The goalkeeper made his first appearance for the club since January but shipped four goals in Millwall’s unexpected Carabao Cup collapse.
Some fans raised concerns over the goalkeeping for the couple of Reading’s strikes – including Charlie Savage’s free-kick to make it 3-0 – but Rowett said he would review the game before making snap judgements.
When asked about the keeper, he told reporters: “I’ll watch the game back, I’ll watch the goals back and look at every player and see where every player could do better and what we could do better as a team. I don’t think it’s fair to pinpoint people.
“Anyone that came into the team had an opportunity to show what they can do. I’ll watch the game back and I’ll assess that tomorrow.”
Rowett did, however, lament the team’s defending collectively.
He said: “The goals we conceded were woefully poor. If you watch them back they were terrible goals to concede. And that sums up the evening.
“I think Reading thoroughly deserved the win. They were far better than us, they ran with more intensity, they looked like they wanted to fight and play for each other more than we did. And we got we deserved, and they got what they deserved. Which was a cracking win for them.”
