MILLWALL lead the league in set-piece goals so far this campaign, with 12 of their 22 goals coming from corners, free-kicks or penalties.
Last season, the Lions finished second in the rankings behind Huddersfield Town, who stormed their way to third place after scoring from 20 set piece situations across the 46 games.
Of course, manager Carlos Corberan departed the John Smith’s Stadium over the summer along with a number of key players, although Millwall boss Gary Rowett is still wary of the aerial threat that they pose ahead of Saturday’s clash
“First and foremost, that was a large part of their success last year as well,” he told NewsAtDen.
“It probably highlights, once again, how big set pieces can be in terms of a percentage of your goals.
“They’ve got a different manager of course, different ways of doing things, so what a team did last year and what they do this year is often slightly different and slightly adjusted. The guys will look at that and make sure the details are right.
“Of course, they’ve got players that can attack set pieces just as well as defend them, so we always have to be mindful no matter who we’re playing against in terms of dealing with the opposition’s set pieces.
“It’s not a one-way street, we’ve scored a fair share of our own ones, but of course we’re always mindful that we have to keep defending well to make sure that the balance doesn’t tip.”
