ROMAIN Esse and Zian Flemming scored as Millwall beat Reading 2-1 in a behind closed doors friendly.
The victory makes it two wins in four days in matches without fans following the Lions’ victory over Charlton Athletic at Calmont Road on Tuesday.
Amid searing heat at Reading’s training ground, the strikes by Esse and Flemming kept up Millwall’s solid start to pre-season ahead of next week’s games in Spain.
Millwall boss Neil Harris switched all of his outfield players at the hour mark while new goalkeeper Lukas Jensen was afforded 90 minutes in goal.
Among the initial starters was new striker Macaulay Langstaff and youngsters Esse, Aidomo Emakhu and Alfie Massey, while the final 30 minutes saw appearances off the bench for Japhet Tanganga and youth star Kyle Smith.
There was no outing for Shaun Hutchinson, who re-signed with the club yesterday, while Billy Mitchell, Adam Mayor and Connal Trueman remain sidelined with injuries.
Millwall’s next two games take place in front of fans at the Pinatar Stadium against Nottingham Forest on Tuesday and Real Murcia on Friday.
