A middle-aged man was arrested on suspicion of murder after another man in his 50s was stabbed at a flat in Brixton in the earlier hours of this morning (Saturday, February 11).
Police were called by London Ambulance Service at around 1:30am to a critically injured man at a flat in Hicken Road, just of St Matthew’s Road.
The man, aged in his 50s, was taken to hospital suffering stab injuries. Despite the efforts of medics, he died a short time later. Officers are in the process of informing his family. A post-mortem examination and formal identification will be arranged in due course.
Second man arrested in connection with Railton Road shooting
An urgent investigation is now under way and one man, aged in his 50s, has been arrested on suspicion of murder. He remains in custody.
A crime scene is in place at the block of flats in Hicken Road and forensic examination of the scene is ongoing.
Additional officers have been deployed to the area and local people with any concerns are being urged to please speak with those officers.
