Evelina Children’s Hospital are raising money to improve their neonatal unit (NICU) by doing a special screening of ‘Matilda the Musical’ at Peckhamplex early next month.
On Sunday December 11th, the new children’s film will be shown at the Peckhamplex cinema in a special screening with all proceeds going towards Evelina London Children’s Charity’s Christmas appeal.
The unit cares for seriously ill babies and their families when they need it most, by offering life-saving treatment and vital support.

The money raised will help to provide more welcoming, homely spaces at the hospital which will help to make families feel more comfortable. The funds will ensure the NICU is able to offer peaceful, calming places where worried and exhausted parents can spend precious moments with their tiny baby.
Caroline Gormley, Associate Director of Fundraising for Evelina London Children’s Charity, said: “We’re so thankful to the Peckhamplex cinema and to Sony for supporting our charity Christmas appeal. As an organisation at the heart of our local community, Peckhamplex are the perfect partner for Evelina London.”
As well as buying tickets to attend this screening at the Peckhamplex, anyone can support the appeal here.
John Reiss, Chairman of Peckhamplex, said: “We are delighted to be supporting Evelina London and encourages the readers of the News to buy tickets and tell their friends to help the work of this wonderful hospital!”
The film stars Emma Thompson, Lashana Lynch, Stephen Graham and Andrea Riseborough as well as newcomer Alisha Weir as Matilda.
Tickets for the screening cost £10 and can be bought HERE.
