A second person has died after being caught in the Brixton Academy crush and a third remains in critical condition.
Gaby Hutchinson, 23, was working as security at the Asake concert on Thursday, December 15. He died in hospital in the early hours of Monday, December 19.
On Saturday, December 17, Rebecca Ikumelo, 33, of Newham, died in hospital after sustaining injuries on Thursday.
Chief Superintendent Colin Wingrove, policing commander for Lambeth and Southwark, said: “It is devastating news that a second person has lost their life following the events on Thursday. I wish to express my heartfelt condolences to Gabrielle’s family at this unimaginably difficult time.”
The afro-pop concert was abandoned halfway through because people allegedly forced their way in without tickets.
Police say that all three people who sustained critical injuries were in the building foyer.
Footage shared on social media appeared to show a chaotic series of events, with a huge, tightly packed crowd outside the building.
Other videos appeared to show people running through the venue, and people shouting and jostling during the concert.
There are reports of people being kicked and punched in the crowd.
Footage also appeared to show a woman being hurled down steps by a police officer.
“We have made a referral to the Independent Office for Police Conduct as is standard national practice following all incidents where police have been in attendance and members of the public have died or been seriously injured,” police said.
Before the event, afro-pop artist Asake, otherwise known as Mr. Money, asked people on Twitter not to come without a valid ticket.

Police are asking people to submit footage and photos of the event to an online page so they can establish what happened.
Chief Superintendent Wingrove said: “The investigation is large and complex. Officers are reviewing CCTV, phone footage, speaking to witnesses and conducting forensic examinations.
As with any police investigation, they will assess the evidence to establish whether any criminal offences were committed.”
Police cordons outside the venue have been removed but some remain inside while detectives examine the scene.
Any witnesses who are yet to speak with police are asked to call 101 referencing 6725/15Dec.
