Get into the Christmas spirit this year with a stocking of festive 3D movies at the BFI IMAX in Waterloo this December.
The movie marathon kicks off on December 1 with a 20th Anniversary re-release of the beloved classic ‘Elf’ (2003) in 4K IMAX with Laser projection.
On December 8, ‘Wonka’ (2023) will take the spotlight, offering a fresh take on Roald Dahl’s whimsical world of sweets with Timothée Chalamet as the genius sweet maker.
The holiday joy continues with classics like ‘The Nightmare Before Christmas’ (1993) in 3D on November 26 and December 13, and ‘The Polar Express 3D’ (2004) arriving on December 15.
Meanwhile, action enthusiasts can look forward to ‘Die Hard’ (1988) on December 16, while animation lovers can enjoy ‘Tokyo Godfathers’ on December 14.
Down the river at BFI Southbank the feast of festive programming continues with this year’s Christmas line-up including ‘The Bishop’s Wife’ (1947), ‘Miracle on 34th Street’ (1947), ‘The Muppet Christmas Carol’ (1992) and ‘Meet Me in St Louis’ (1944).
For those Scrooges looking for the respite from the Christmas period, there are still a range of non-festive films on offer at both venues.
Tickets are on sale to BFI Members on 7 November and to the general public on 9 November.
