A missing girl, aged thirteen, has been found safe and well eleven days after she was last sighted on East Street, Walworth.
Mariama Kallon was reported missing on Thursday, February 9 and finally found on Monday, February 20.
Her discovery will come as a relief to the local community, who have been desperately worried about her whereabouts.
Police had said it wasn’t the first time Mariama had gone missing.
Previously, she had stayed away from home overnight and attended school the next day.
But her school was closed on Friday and she had not been seen since half-term began.
There were two sightings of Mariama before she was eventually found.
One was on Markham Street off Walworth Road by McDonald’s on Friday, February 10, and the other was on Riddons Road, close to Grove Park railway station, on Monday, February 13.
A police spokes person said: “Many thanks to media and the public who assisted with publishing and sharing appeals.” And the Met asked that photo of the teenager be removed from online articles and social media.
