A vulnerable missing man from Camberwell has been found after two weeks away, to the relief of his family.
Ishmael Thomas, who has schizophrenia, had been found by officers soon after he disappeared from his mother’s home near Camberwell Green on August 23, and taken to hospital.
He was found in the Maudsley Hospital on Tuesday evening (August 23), and has been kept in there for the time being.
“He was happy to see us, he’s well,” his brother told the News. “It’s a bit strange there was this mix-up but we’re just really happy to see him.”
Ishmael’s brother and mother had been worried that he had travelled to St Albans because of a Pizza Hut transaction they found on a log of his banking activity. But it turned out he had simply ordered pizza to the ward, and it had said St Albans because that was where the banking location was.
