A bus and tipper truck collided on Grove Vale, East Dulwich yesterday (Wednesday, June 8) injuring three people.
Three people were taken to hospital with injuries but none are life-threatening or life-changing.
No arrests have been made.
Police were called to the scene near the junction at Lordship Lane at 1.13pm to reports of a road traffic accident.
They arrived to see the tipper truck’s tail end lodged in the side of the bus and glass everywhere.
One eyewitness said the accident initially caused. gridlock, with large crowds gathering to witness the carnage.
Another eyewitness described hearing an “almighty bang”.
TFL was forced to divert several bus routes but schedules are now running as normal.
Tom Cunnington, Head of Bus Business Development at TFL, said: “Our thoughts are with those involved in the collision involving a route 176 bus and a HGV, which occurred on Grove Vale in East Dulwich. We recognise this incident may have been distressing for those involved and we have support available for anyone who needs it. A full investigation is underway.”
