Police have launched a fresh appeal for information on the murder of a 23-year-old man who was stabbed to death at his family restaurant, in front of diners and his mother.
Ian Gualavisi, 23, was killed on Tuesday December 14, at around 7.45 pm, at Rincon Restaurant, Elephant and Castle.
Two men arrived on a moped, before barging into the restaurant and fatally wounding Ian.
Police said the assailants then fled on the stolen moped through Burgess Park, which was later found burnt out in Picton Street on the Elmington Estate, around 1.5 miles away from the scene of the crime.
DCI Chris Wood said: “The restaurant was popular with the Latin American community. I am sure there are people within this community who have vital information about Ian’s murder. No matter how insignificant it may seem, please tell me what you know.”
Two men, both aged 24, arrested on 15 and 16 December 2021 on suspicion of murder, have been released under investigation.
Four men aged between 16 and 21, were arrested on 25 and 26 May 2022. They have been bailed to return pending further enquiries.
In March, BBC Crimewatch shared chilling footage of the attack in a bid to track down Ian’s killers but questions remain unanswered.
