Alleyn’s year eleven pupils were ‘enthusiastic, energetic and determined’ throughout the pandemic, says their proud headteacher.
“I am delighted for our Year 11 pupils, who have achieved impressive results that are incredibly well-deserved,” Jane Lunnon told the News.
“Their GCSE journey has been unlike any other, but they have remained enthusiastic, energetic and determined despite the many uncertainties along their route.
“It is this enterprising spirit that marks them out as Alleyn’s learners and which has allowed them to evidence, through the rigour of so many assessments, just how brilliant they are.
“I am so thankful, too, for our wonderful staff body who have worked incredibly hard throughout the pandemic to ensure that our boys and girls remain inspired, supported and engaged.”
Alongside stellar academic achievements, GCSE students from the school have also won theTrinity College London Talent Class of 2020, were shortlisted for the Triumph Design Awards, and represented the UK in Mathematics Olympiads.
Mel Joel, who heads up the middle school, said: “This is a wonderful outcome for our boys and girls, and I am so proud of every one of them.
“They have worked so hard and demonstrated impressive resilience over the past months and throughout the pandemic.
“It is always a delight to see them receive the results they deserve at GCSE, and I am excited to watch their next steps as they step into upper school and continue to flourish as individuals.”
