London Bridge was closed off for about an hour by police on Monday afternoon (July 12) after a World War Two bomb scare.
The bomb was thought to be at Guy’s campus on Great Maze Pond. Police later confirmed the cordon was taken down after the issue was dealt with.
Southwark Police said in a tweet: “At 16:45hrs on Mon 12 July police were made aware of a possible WW2 ordnance at Guy’s Campus, Great Maze Pond, London SE1 9RT.
A safety cordon has been established. Traffic is being diverted and roads closed. Please avoid the area.
Experts are on the scene.”
