Pupils and staff at Redriff Primary School in Rotherhithe were all smiles after inspectors gave them top marks.
The City of London Academies Trust school has been rated ‘Oustanding’ by Ofsted following a November inspection.
Headteacher Joanna James said: “This is fantastic news and we are delighted to have been recognised as outstanding.
“We have amazing pupils and staff who work exceptionally hard, enabling the school to grow together.
“I would like to thank our parents too for all their support and engagement which has been central to our success.”
Redriff Primary was given the highest mark across all five inspection areas – quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development, leadership and management, and early years provision.
Inspectors said: “Pupils are happy at this school. They are proud to share their learning and show excitement when they talk about their school community.”
The report also highlighted pupils’ behaviour throughout the school as “exemplary”.
After its November visit, Ofsted reported: “Pupils clearly value where they live and the diversity that exists within the school community. Pupils demonstrate excellent attitudes to learning and achieve well.”
The report added: “Everyone looks out for each other and behaviour throughout the school is calm and positive.
“The school offers exceptional opportunities for pupils’ personal development. Pupils enjoy their positions of responsibility and strive to make a difference to school life.”
