Officers are appealing for information after a firearm was produced during an ‘altercation’ in Falmouth Road, SE1, yesterday evening.
According to the Met, the ‘altercation’ involved a group of men and took place near Whitworth House at around 9pm.
Officers believe the weapon was held by a black male, described as being around five-foot-seven who was wearing a grey hooded top.
The suspect made off without firing or injuring anyone.
So far there have been no arrests.
Detective Inspector Dean Purvis said: “At this stage no one has come forward as a victim of crime.
“However, I am concerned that this was a serious incident, in which a firearm was produced, and want to reassure the local community that we are thoroughly investigating what happened.
“We are keeping an open mind about the possible motive.
“This incident is likely to have been witnessed by members of public living or passing through the area.
