The family of a young man who was stabbed to death in the street is taking donations to cover his funeral costs.
Keelen Morris Wong, 22, was tragically killed in front of shoppers on Coldharbour Lane just before 5pm on Tuesday, October 3.
A 23 year old man from Merton, appeared at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court charged with his murder and possession of an offensive weapon on Saturday, October 7.
A message posted to the family’s Crowdfunder page, apparently written by a friend of the family named Chantelle, said: Keelen Morris Wong was a beloved Son, Brother, Grandson, Nephew, Cousin and Friend.
“Keelen’s life was tragically taken too soon on the 3rd October 2023. To say hundreds of people are devastated would be an understatement, many hearts are broken.
“We can only pray that the people responsible will be brought to justice and we will continue to pray for all those suffering at the loss of such a kind, funny and handsome 22 year old man.
“My aim is to raise funds to help his family with the day that every parent never wants to endure. Please support them in reaching or exceeding this target, so Keelen can have the best send off that he truly deserves.”
At the time of writing, over £2,000 has been raised from over 90 donations.
One donor wrote: “No family should have to go through this kind of devastation.”
