A woman stabbed to death in Bermondsey on Christmas Eve has been named as 22-year-old Kacey Clarke as police charged a teenager with her murder.
Kacey was killed at a residential address in Spenlow House, Jamaica Road, at around 10pm on December 24.
A sixteen-year-old boy who is known to the victim will appear in court today (Thursday, December 28) charged with her murder.
A post-mortem examination has given the cause of death as a single sharp force trauma to the chest.
Police were called to the property on Sunday evening to reports of a woman with a stab injury.
Paramedics arrived in less than five minutes and provided first aid but Kacey died at the scene.
Officers arrested the sixteen-year-old a short time later on suspicion of murder.
Kacey’s family is being supported by specially trained officers and has asked that their privacy be respected at this difficult time.
Detectives from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command are leading the investigation.
