Police investigating the murder of a Bermondsey teenager have named the victim, in a bid to get more information about the killing.
Francois Kablan, 19, of Amina Way, Bermondsey was found with stab wounds on Great Dover Street in Borough last Wednesday evening, May 13.
Officers were called at 5:28pm on to reports of a number of males fighting near the road, which links Bermondsey with Borough High Street.
The London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance attended.
Francis, who has been described as a “great, talented kid”, died at the scene.
Playing in the reserves for Harlow Town FC, the club highlighted his talent telling the Evening Standard yesterday he scored a hat-trick on his last appearance.
Francois’s next of kin are being looked after by specialist officers and a post-mortem took place yesterday.
Three males, one aged only fifteen, and a 18 year-old woman were arrested near to the scene on suspicion of murder.
The woman and a twenty year-old man have since been released and bailed to return on a date in late May.
However, police said they have kept the fifteen-year-old and a seventeen-year-old male in custody after applying for a ‘warrant for further detention’.
Detective Chief Inspector Kate Kieran, from Homicide and Specialist Crime, who is leading the investigation, said: “Our thoughts remain with the family and friends of Francois. This is a tragic loss of life of a young man and we will continue to investigate to ensure justice.
“Please do get in touch if you have any information about the incident, no matter how small you think it is.”
