A serving Southwark and Lambeth police officer has been sentenced for harassment and now faces misconduct proceedings by the Met.
PC Kieron Sutton was given a ten-day rehabilitation order, 70 hours unpaid work and a six-month restraining order at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday (June 22).
The 21-year-old was found guilty of harassment in May after it was alleged he called his victim 85 times and sent numerous messages to her between July 23 and 24 last year despite being told to stop.
Chief Superintendent Colin Wingrove, Borough Commander for the Central South area, said: “PC Sutton’s actions were unacceptable.
“We are committed to bringing the perpetrators of such crimes to justice and protecting and supporting victims of harassment.
“Misconduct proceedings will now take place following the conclusion of criminal proceedings.”
