Construction on the new Compass School site has begun in Bermondsey.
The long-awaited building, approved as by the Mayor of London as part of the Grosvenor regeneration, will include state-of-the-art classroom and sports facilities including a rooftop games arena and specialist performing arts areas.
The site is now being prepared, with demolition contractors Keltbray working with the school to ensure ‘minimal disruption’.
Building contractor ISG Ltd is holding bi-weekly meetings with the school to review the plans. The project is slated for completion in September 2023.
Principal Marcus Huntley said: “This is truly an exciting time for our community as we are finally seeing boots on site and our school being built.
