ADAM Barrett has told his Millwall players to not ignore the positives from their last two games.
The caretaker manager led the Lions to a draw against Preston North End before a defeat against Blackburn Rovers on Tuesday. It’s a trip to Watford for inconsistent Millwall today.
Despite picking up just one point from a potential six, Barrett believes there have been positives to take from the two games.
After starting poorly against Preston, Millwall took control in the first half at Deepdale. They also started well and showed plenty of fight in the final 20 minutes against Blackburn once 2-1 behind.
Ahead of today’s clash at Vicarage Road, Barrett said: “You’ve got to take the positives from the Preston game when for half an hour to 40 minutes, we were the better team.
“You have to take the second half performances here especially. And we have to give them the belief and platform to that for longer spells. We’ve got to work hard now to get them to that level and belief that they can do it, and they can do it.”
Millwall meet a Watford side who have won back-to-back games for the first time this season after recording 1-0 wins over Sheffield Wednesday and Swansea City.
They go into this game one place above the Lions in the table but with the same number of points, wins, draws, defeats and goals conceded.
Millwall, looking for their first win in four, sit just four points off the play-off positions. They have not won back-to-back games since March.
