A man was rescued after a fire on a Bermondsey estate this weekend.
Fifteen firefighters and three engines raced to tackle the blaze in a flat on Avondale Square off the Old Kent Road on Saturday, March 4.
A small part of a three-roomed first floor flat in the three-storey block of flats was damaged by the fire.
The Brigade said one man suffering from smoke inhalation was rescued by fire crews wearing breathing apparatus and was taken to hospital by ambulance crews.
The Brigade was called at 12:13pm on Saturday afternoon and the fire was under control at 1:19pm.
Fire crews from New Cross, Peckham and Brixton fire stations attend.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
