Four-point Easter haul ensures Fisher safety

Four points secured over the Easter weekend has ensured Fisher will not be relegated from the Southern Counties East Football League.

The Rotherhithe club, who play their home games at Champion Hill in Dulwich, has showed signs of improvement since the appointment of new manager Dean Harrision midway through this season.

His stated aim on his appointment was to avoid relegation this campaign and a win and a draw in three days means Erith Town, who occupy the sole relegation place, cannot catch Fisher.

On Monday Fisher twice had to come from behind to bag a point in the local derby against Beckenham Town.

Travis Gregory gave Beckenham the lead on 22 minutes last Saturday only for Femi Akinwande to hammer home an equaliser three minutes before the break.

A penalty netted by Alfie Nunn just past the hour mark gave the home side the lead once more only for Luke Haidarovic to score a spot-kick of his own with sixteen minutes left to secure a vital point.

On the same day Erith Town could only draw with Tunbridge Wells which means the Fish are safe with four games to play.

Two days earlier Fisher picked up their third win in four games when they overcame Lordswood 3-0 at Champion Hill.

A brace of goals from centre half DaveWaters plus a late effort from Jordan Adekunle saw off Lordswood, as the result ended up being a giant step towards safety for the Black and Whites.
