Dulwich Hamlet thrill returning fans as they make it three consecutive league wins

Dulwich Hamlet welcomed fans back to Champion Hill in perfect fashion as they continued their excellent recent revival with a 2-1 win over Eastbourne Borough on Tuesday night.

There was a reduced capacity of 1,078 in East Dulwich – the first time supporters were back in their ground since last March – to watch Gavin Rose’s side make is three wins in a row with nine goals scored, and extend their unbeaten National League South run to five games.

It’s a remarkable resurgence in form after the Hamlet failed to win any of their opening league games of the 2020-21 season.

There was also relief after Dulwich’s previous two homes games had been postponed due to a problem with a floodlight pylon.

Dulwich went 2-0 up against their visitors through Danny Mills and Reise Allassani and a brilliant performance from goalkeeper Charlie Grainger kept the lead intact until deep into added time when James Hammond’s goal proved only a consolation.

The result moved Dulwich up to twelth in the table, just three points off the play-offs.

The Hamlet travel to Oxford City this Saturday, with kick-off at 3pm.
