Dulwich Hamlet continue league charge with second win in a week

Dulwich Hamlet kept pace with the lead group in the Isthmian League Premier Division with two wins in four days this week.

On Tuesday night Hamlet avenged a defeat earlier in the season when they beat Harrow Borough 2-0 at Earlsmead.

The away side survived a few early scares before taking the lead in the 23rd minute when Dumebi Dumaka flicked the ball in behind the Harrow defence to Ibra Sekajja for a clinical finish.

It took just two minutes for Gavin Rose’s side to extend their lead, Ashley Carew picking out Vas Karagiannis before the winger beat Luke Williams with a low drive.

On Saturday, there were more fans in attendance to see Dulwich Hamlet’s 4-1 win over Worthing than there were in the League Two fixtures involving Accrington Stanley, Barnet and Morecambe.

The club’s annual ‘Pay what you like game’ was a big success, with 2,032 fans packing into Hamlet’s Champion Hill stadium.

Worthing made the brighter start, but Dulwich went ahead against the run of play in the 30th minute Dumaka poked home from close range.

Karagiannis doubled the lead before the break before the home side added a third in the 53rd minute when Marc Weatherstone powered home Carew’s corner.

Worthing pulled a goal back through Omar Bugiel, but Dulwich completed the rout when Carew sublimely curled a free-kick into the top corner from 25 yards.
