Branch crashes down on van in Long Lane

Rush hour motorists couldn’t be-leaf their eyes on Monday when a huge branch crashed down onto a van, bringing traffic to a standstill.

Luckily no-one was injured in the freaky foliage accident, which left leaves and bark scattered across the road.

A police spokesperson said that the van’s driver was unhurt in the “damage only” incident, which occurred at around 5pm.

Long Lane was temporarily blocked in both directions near the junction with Crosby Row before the branch and van were cleared.
