Bus smashed into house and parked van in Camberwell

A 148 bus crashed headfirst into a house and a parked van in Camberwell today, but no one was injured.

Police told the News they were called to the junction between Orpheus Street and Denmark Hill at 12.45pm to help control traffic, while London Ambulance Service paramedics tended to passengers.

It was later confirmed that none of the passengers or the bus driver were injured.

London Fire Brigade (LFB) officers attended and made both vehicles safe, and isolated the electrical supply to the house.

“We sent two fire engines and a fire rescue unit to the scene and the incident was over for the Brigade at 1.42pm,” an LFB spokesman said.
