Peckham commuters escaped injury on Monday morning when unstable scaffolding collapsed onto the side of the No.345 bus.

The incident occurred at around 11.15am, and the section of the road by the junction of Peckham High Street and Basing Court was cordoned off.

A London Fire Brigade spokesperson said: “We were called at 1125 to reports of scaffolding which had fallen on to a bus and a wall collapse on Peckham High Street. A section of scaffolding had collapsed on to a bus and street furniture. The incident was over by 1143 and fortunately there were no reports of any injuries.”
