Surely Lewisham Council can find another place for travellers’ site than a social club?

Surely there has to be a better site for a travellers’ park than on the land of the Wheelshunters Social Club?

Given the recent furore between Lewisham Council and Millwall, to now hit a small social club that is part of the area’s historic working class community that is fast disappearing is just insulting.

We are talking about six pitches for the travellers’ community.

Where is the logic in demolishing a community asset that serves on average 100 local people and includes a green space that children play on?
