Southwark Blue Plaque Nominees 2015

A soldier who could throw a bomb 75 yards, a championship golfer, the country’s first purpose-built solarium, and the ‘University of the East End’ – which will get your vote for this year’s Southwark Blue Plaque?

There are over 50 Southwark Blue Plaques proudly celebrating the borough’s rich history since the News and Southwark Heritage started the scheme with Southwark Council back in 2003, with historic family firm F.A. Albin and Sons winning the award last year.

The nominations this year are:

George A Roberts

Sir Henry Cotton

The Solarium, Grange Road

The Blackfriars Settlement

To vote for the blue plaque you can email, write to Southwark Blue Plaques, C/O Southwark Heritage Association, 216 Upland Road, East Dulwich, SE22 0DH, fill in a voting card at any Southwark library or vote online at
