Red means stop! Bus flattens traffic light in Surrey Quays

A bus flattened a traffic light pole in a bizarre accident in Surrey Quays last Thursday.

The 381 bus, which was travelling from Peckham to Waterloo via Rotherhithe, suffered a damaged front window in the incident at around 3pm.

Luckily no one was injured in the collision, which occurred at the junction of Surrey Quays Road and Canada Street.  The London Fire Brigade and Met Police attended the scene but were not needed. The road was temporarily closed but opened after half an hour.
