Mayor of Southwark to break charity fundraising record

The Mayor of Southwark is on course to break the record for most money ever raised through the borough’s mayoral Charity Appeal.

Over 500 people came out to support Councillor Sunil Chopra’s Charity Ball in aid of the Robes Project and UK Homes4Heroes last Saturday, as his fundraising total neared £60,000.  He said: “I am delighted that my Charity Ball was such a success. These are two charities that are very close to my heart and we must always be mindful of those less fortunate than ourselves.”
