Pensioner stable after collision in Peckham

A pensioner is in a stable condition after a collision with a car in the centre of Peckham yesterday afternoon.

The woman, said to be in her 80s, suffered serious injuries after the collision in Rye Lane shortly before 3.30pm, which reportedly also involved a number 63 bus.

London’s Air Ambulance landed nearby and the elderly victim was treated at the scene before being taken as a priority to the major trauma centre at King’s College Hospital by car.

The victim’s injuruies are not thought to be life-threatening. The driver stopped at the scene and was not arrested.

Police closed the road in both directions
