Pedestrian and motorcyclist hospitalised after Southwark Street accident

A male motorcyclist and female pedestrian have been hospitalised after a rush-hour collision in Southwark Street.

Police were called at around 8.50am after the bike collided with the woman outside the Mercure Hotel.

The rider was taken to a south London hospital, while the pedestrian was taken to an east London hospital. Their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening and both remain in a stable condition.

Southwark Street is currently closed from Southwark Bridge Road.
