Lollipop lady for St Mary Magdalene CE Primary gets Christmas hamper

A longstanding lollipop lady has been awarded a Christmas hamper for over 40 years of service.

Margaret Middleton will be taking a well-earned rest this Christmas to enjoy her gift after helping children at St Mary Magdalene CE Primary safely get to school for more than four decades.

The surprise hamper was presented by Rose Morgan, Community Champion from Morrison’s, who remembers Margaret helping her own daughter cross the road.

Pupils at St Mary Magdalene have been getting into the festive spirit with two nativity plays and a performance of The Snowman.

With nearly twenty ‘sheep’ on stage at once for the nativity, the parents who flocked to the premiere certainly didn’t feel fleeced by the baa-rilliant performance from the little stars, who were shepherded to success by the school’s head teacher Jenny Paris.
