Elderly residents get slap-up Christmas meal

Christmas came early last week as 85 of the borough’s elderly residents were treated to a slap-up festive feast, courtesy of Tesco.

On Wednesday afternoon, the diners were treated to a roast turkey dinner with all the trimmings at Caroline Gardens Chapel, followed by Christmas pudding and a glass of bubbly.

The food was served and prepared by twenty Tesco workers from across London, along with Bermondsey Community Kitchen Head Chef, Jenny Armstrong.
