Christmas tree sale to support Camberwell charity

A Christmas tree sale is being held to raise money for a charity supporting disadvantaged people.

Camberwell House will be selling trees on Camberwell Green until this Sunday, December 17, with all profits going to St Giles Trust.

St Giles Trust, also based in Camberwell, works with disadvantaged people in the community to help them with employment and housing.

Michael Chisholm, who volunteers for Camberwell House, said: “People have really been getting behind it and spreading the word for us.

“Lots of them are coming from nearby to get their affordable trees.”

A spokesperson from St Giles Trust added: “We are extremely grateful for the kind support and generosity of Camberwell House and the local community.

“Money raised from the sale could go towards small but vital things which we often struggle to cover ourselves.

“These could be travel costs to and from job interviews for our clients, starter packs for someone moving into a new home after a period of homelessness, or help towards college costs for a disadvantaged young person with no ‘bank of mum and dad’ to fall back on.”

The sale will be held at 54 Camberwell Green from 11am-7pm tomorrow, Friday, and 9am-5pm this Saturday and Sunday.
