Peckham cashino provides teen with new wheelchair

A Peckham casino has provided a sixteen-year-old quadriplegic boy with a new wheelchair, writes Jessica Aszkenasy…

Nicolas Brennan has been given a new wheelchair by Cashino, which operates 171 adult gaming centres across the country.

The new wheelchair will allow him to spend more time outdoors with his family and become more independent.

Nicolas lives with his mum, Martha and his dad, Duncan, in Brixton and suffers from Quadriplegic Cerebral Palsy; a lifelong condition that affects the movement and co-ordination of all four limbs.

Martha said: “Due to his condition, Nicolas has to wear a spinal brace, cannot sit without support and is highly dependent on a wheelchair to access the local community.

“We recently had to travel with an unsuitable wheelchair that did not meet his postural needs.”

“The Zippie wheelchair donated by Cashino is absolutely wonderful. It’ll make life so much better for Nicolas.

“He’ll be able to truly enjoy his time outdoors with family and will gain a level of independence we could only dream of before.”

Cashino Peckham’s venue manager, Cladio Pojoni, said: “It’s so rewarding to know that our fundraising efforts are going to make such a huge difference to Nicolas and his family’s life.

“He’s such a lovely, friendly boy who thoroughly deserves this wheelchair.”
