OAPs celebrate ‘Older People’s Day’ at Millwall

Hundreds of OAPs celebrated International Older People’s Day with a special party at the executive suite at Millwall FC last week.

The golden oldies had a “wonderful” time at the 1940s-themed bash on October 1, said Simone Morrison, the Healthy Living Manager at Age UK Lewisham and Southwark.

She said: “It was beautiful, wonderful, and very well attended. We had over 230 older people there and a huge number of charities, and everyone had a lovely time.”

Attendees enjoyed a three-course meal, ate a cake in the shape of an old-fashioned wireless, and danced to a band playing some classic tunes from by-gone days.
