Pavements widened to help social distancing

Pavements across Southwark are being widened to help with social distancing – and the council is asking residents to send in more street names for consideration.

Work is currently taking place in East Dulwich’s Cheltenham Road; Camberwell’s Denmark Hill and Artichoke Place and Bankside’s Sumner Street.

So far, Southwark Council has received more than 1,500 suggestions via its online consultation.

  1. Cheltenham Road is in Nunhead, and the work was planned and consulted on before Covid 19 appeared. Still good that it is happening though.
