SE16: Firefighters called to blaze at flat on Bermondsey’s Thurland Road

Around 25 firefighters have managed to get a blaze at a block of flats on Thurland Road, behind St James’s Church, under control this afternoon.

Four fire engines were called to the blaze at 12.38pm and got the fire under control at 13.19pm.

Part of a five-roomed flat on the second floor of a four-storey block has been damaged by the fire.

There were no reports of any injuries, said the London Fire Brigade.

Fire crews from Dockhead, Dowgate, Whitechapel and Shadwell fire stations were at the scene.
