Eighty-eight-year-old man dies in Walworth Road bus collision

An elderly man who was critically injured in a collision with a bus on Walworth Road last week has died, police confirmed today.

Officers were called to the scene at Walworth Road at 4.16pm on Friday, August 1.

The 88-year-old was taken to hospital in a critical condition and died two days later on Sunday, August 4, at 11.57am.

Although he is yet to be formally identified, his next of kin have been informed.

Police from the serious collisions have launched an investigation and are appealing for any witnesses or those with dash cam footage to get in touch with the incident room on 0208 285 1574.
