Breaking News: Armed police presence near East Street after reports of a ‘man with a knife’

There is a heavy police presence near East Street this afternoon after officers were alerted to ‘a man with a knife’.

Residents said officers had swooped into King and Queen Street in Walworth at around 3pm with officers still at the scene.

The Met confirmed it had been called at 2.54pm on Friday, May 10, to reports of a man carrying a knife.

A spokesperson confirmed there had no arrests but enquiries are on-going.
