A Level Results Day 2019: Distinctions all round in Sport and Leisure and six heading to Oxbridge as The Charter School North Dulwich celebrates A Level Results

Every single Sports and Leisure BTEC students gained distinctions, and six A Level students are celebrating securing their Oxbridge offers at The Charter School North Dulwich today.

The school says its student’s performance across the board has been ‘fantastic’ for both A level and BTEC entrants.

In total, 57 per cent of students achieved at least one A Grade or equivalent, with more than 23 per cent gaining an A* or A in each of their subjects.

And the number of A*-B grades has improved year-on-year, with 72 per cent of A Level results at this level, up from 67 per cent in 2018.

Every single BTEC student taking Sports and Leisure gained a Distinction or Merit, while 93 per cent achieved these results in Performing Arts and 82 per cent in Business.

Head teacher, Christian Hicks, said: “Our students have once again demonstrated their incredible perseverance and focus on excellence through these brilliant results.

“The past two years have been challenging for both students and staff as the government’s A Level reforms came into full effect, and I am extremely proud of the results today which evidence the hard work and commitment of everyone involved.

Students with an exceptional clutch of results include:

  • Tessa Doubleday, who gained A*s in English and History and and A in Maths, who is going to read English at Cambridge.
  • Joseph Helm, who gained A* in English, A in French and B in Music who will be reading English at Oxford.
  • Joseph Amadi, who gained four A* grades in Chemistry, Maths, Physics and Economics. He is going to Manchester to study Physics.
  • Nasim Rahoui, who gained a Distinction in ICT and Sport and Leisure BTECs, and a Merit in Business BTEC. He is off to Westminster to study Computer Science.
  • Pam Thompson (pictured) who is off to Nottingham Trent to study International Business after gaining two Bs in Economics and Psychology and a Merit in Business BTEC.
