Peckhamplex cinema to reopen next week and tickets are still £4.99

The Peckhamplex cinema will reopen its doors to movie-goers next Wednesday – and tickets will still be under a fiver.

The independent cinema has obtained a loyal following across London for its £4.99 tickets at any time of the day.

Despite the “economic hardship” caused by lockdown and being out of operation since March, the movie theatre says it has managed to retain all of its staff.

In a message to customers, the business said: “We’re back! After five long months. We have missed you.

“Thank you for waiting and thank you for your messages of support.

“We are committed to making your visit as safe and enjoyable as possible and have put in place lots of measures for the benefit of you and our lovely employees who will all be here to help you.”

The cinema says it will enforce mask wearing at all times, except when eating and drinking, and social distancing while watching a movie.

Tickets can be booked online from today, August 19, and films will start showing again from August 26.

Films being shown include Christopher Nolan’s Tenet, Unhinged, starring Russell Crowe, and a new adaptation of Pinocchio, the traditional Italian fairy tale.

Tickets have to be booked online to help with contact tracing in the event of an outbreak.

More details can be found on the Peckhamplex website, here.
