Pearlies at Jarra Brown book launch

The police officer responsible for overseeing the repatriation of fallen British soldiers through Wootton Bassett held a special Southwark launch of his new book last week, featuring a chapter on Barry Albin-Dyer.

In ‘46 miles’ – referring to the journey he made with Barry between RAF Lyneham and the M4 – Jarra Brown, MBE, describes the “huge honour, dignity and respect Albin’s showed to each of our fallen who paid the ultimate sacrifice”.

Jarra was joined by the Pearly King of Camberwell and Bermondsey, Jimmy Jukes and Pearly Queen of Rotherhithe, Michelle Thorpe, at Surrey Quays Shopping Centre on Thursday morning.
