Former leader of Southwark Council Tony Ritchie dies

Former Southwark Council leader Tony Ritchie passed away this morning, after suffering from Myelitis – an infection or inflammation of the spinal cord.

Tony was active in the community for much of his life, becoming Mayor of Southwark from 1989-1990, serving as a councillor for 28 years and being leader of the London Fire and Civil Defence Authority.
