Surrey Quays’ resident artist Rod Kitson has taken over a space in the upper floor of the shopping mall as his studio, exhibition space and art room where he will be offering weekly life drawing classes.
The shop has so far been adapted for several successful exhibitions by Rod that were open to artists of all levels, from beginners to professionals, and more shows are planned for the coming months.
Rod is also documenting people in the community for a future London Faces exhibition, and is looking for volunteers to have their portrait painted. He says, ‘If you would like to be part of this project and can give up two hours of your time, email me at: isolationart2020@gmail.com‘. Or you can just pop into the shop to talk to Rod.
So if you want to draw a model or be painted yourself, the Art of Isolation is right for you.
