Young man found stabbed in Rotherhithe by police who followed ‘trail of blood’

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man in his 20s was stabbed in Bermondsey.

Officers were called to Jamaica Road at 9.14pm on Wednesday, March 1.

On arrival they found “a trail of blood” on the ground, but could not find the victim.

A Met spokesman said: “Police then located a man, aged in his 20s, nearby with a stab injury. “He was taken to an east London hospital. His injuries are not life threatening or life changing.”

A local resident in Mayflower Street told the News that police tape was still cordoning off the crime scene on the following morning.

Update: The man continued to receive treatment for his injuries in hospital on March 7. No arrests have yet been made and police inquiries continue.

Anyone with information that could help the police should call 101.
